We trim trees if we perceive them to be a power-line hazard.

Outages can be caused by tree branches contacting or breaking power lines or when uprooted trees pull down lines. To avoid these types of outages, Alexandria Light and Power routinely trims trees that could be a hazard to power-lines. All tree trimming is prioritized depending on the severity of the problem and the time of year. Most tree trimming is done in the winter months unless there is situation that needs immediate attention. We only trim trees when we perceive them as a hazard to power-lines.

If you spot a problem tree that should be cut or trimmed as a precautionary measure, you may call our office or fill out the form below and we will put in our scheduled tree trimming list. Thank you.

If you notice a tree branch that has fallen and is lying directly on power lines or any other situation that could cause an immediate hazard, please call us at 763-6501 so that we can attend to the situation right away.
